What is Tyres-Waste EPR Certificate?
Extended Producer Responsibility’(EPR) “extended producer responsibility” means responsibility of producer of tyre waste to ensure environmentally sound management of waste tyre in accordance with the rules.
Extended Producer Responsibility may comprise of implementing take back system or setting up of collection centers or both and having agreed arrangements with authorized recycler.

Documents Required for E-Waste EPR Registration
- GST Certificate, IEC Certificate, PAN card, CIN certificate and MSME certificate.
- PAN card and Aadhar Card of Authorized Signatory Person from the company
- One email ID and Mobile number for OTP verification.
- Details of Sales data record and number of new tyres, waste tyres import/Manufacturer.
- Plants and machines details will be required for Recycler and Manufacturer.
What is the Validity of Tyre Waste EPR Certificate?
Tyres Waste EPR Certificate is valid for 2 years and after that renewal will be required.
Post Compliance/Annual Returns?
Filing annual returns in the form provided on the portal on or before 30th June following the financial year to which that return relates.

The following entities are required to register on the centralized portal developed by CPCB:
(i) Producer
(ii) Recycler
(iii) Retreader
As per the Hazardous and Other Wastes (Management and Transboundary Movement) Amendment Rules, 2022 , a Producer’’ means any person or entity who -
(i) manufactures and sells new tyre domestically; or
(ii) sells domestically under its own brand, new tyre manufactured by other manufacturers or suppliers; or
(iii) sells imported new tyre; or
(iv) imports vehicles fitted with new tyres; or
(v) automobile manufacturers importing new tyre for use in new vehicles sold domestically; or
(vi) imports waste tyres;
Any entity involved in the process or action of converting waste tyre into following end products, in an environmentally sound manner and having facilities as elaborated in the standard operating procedure or guidelines as specified by the Central Pollution Control Board, namely:
(i) reclaimed rubber
(ii) crumb rubber
(iii) crumb rubber modified bitumen (CRMB)
(iv) recovered carbon black
(v) pyrolysis oil or Char
